The IQ's small dock footprint and self-emptying feature are great features. However, if you want to change floor levels on the map or set no-go zones, you'll have to manually reset it to do so, which is somewhat of a hassle.
The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated functions, however it isn't equipped with no-go zones. These are only available on iRobot robots. The smart-pathing navigational system results in greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, but it is prone to get caught up in rug tassels, and its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.
In our tests in our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair well, clearing huge amounts of hair from floors that were not bare and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less effective with shag carpets, as it struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It did a decent job of maneuvering chair legs and tight spaces, as well as the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on bare flooring however, it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots that we test.
The IQ is a more suitable option for most users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge and is more capable of moving itself around obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can remove sticky messes. The iRobot, however, is better constructed and has less components that require maintenance or replacement and has lower cost per year, and can create virtual no-go zones using its companion application. It is also prone to bump into furniture and people that are in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud sound when it comes across an obstacle. It is then possible to manually guide the device around it to restart it.
Another fantastic aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust its suction strength to match floor type and the amount of the mess. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to your desired area.
If you don't have many furniture in the room you want to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
You can also opt for Edge Cleaning that limits the amount of time in each area to 20 minutes for maximum battery life. This feature allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner cleaning edges and corners.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum and a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also exceptional on floors with no floor. It can remove rice and other fine debris easily. The suction power doesn't diminish as the dirt bin fills. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design traps allergens, keeping your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin so you don't need any additional filters or a vacuum bag.
It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's ideal for fighting staining and deep cleaning. It comes with two cameras in front which provide live feeds to your smartphone.
